Well hello there darlings...

My name is Megan Oldenburger and I am Urban Jane. Well...I used to be "Urban" and now I am "Upstate" after recently relocating to Woodstock, NY full time from Manhattan. I started Urban Jane when I realized I needed a site to organize everything I found on line. Soon I was looking to purchase an apartment in Manhattan and started to blog about my designs. I ended up buying a home in Woodstock, NY instead, and Urban Jane became what I spent most of my time doing at my desk job. (Hey, I am a multi-tasker) After leaving that job, I started my own firm Dichotomy Interiors.

 I  am also a contributer for the blog The Upstater which focuses on real estate, design, local news and events in Upstate, New York.

Originally from the Midwest, I went to school at Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and The San Francisco Art Institute before moving to Manhattan to live and work. With a background in fine art, a love for different periods of architecture, and a passion for real estate, I am always looking for the next project! 

When I am not working, I am spending time with my husband Richard Smykowski, who is an amazing graphics artist and our two small dogs Gidget and Fern watching old timey movies, cooking, and finding and re-furbishing furniture and objects.
